FidTrace

Documentation:

 New in FidTrace version 1.4:

  • The running average feature of continuous sensors was moved from Virtual sensors to Physical sensor settings, the parameter "Period of running Average" (1-6) was added in sensor settings. Such data filtering reduces the number of events caused by noise & minor fluctuations.
  • Events are generated from filtered data rather than from original data.
  • Minimal threshold levels are defined for all Up & Down events to avoid setting of unreasonable events.
  • Some minor bugs were fixed.

  New in FidTrace version 1.3:

  • An "Options" button in Statistics Report allows to show/hide custom & grand totals for rows & columns.
  • Report templates instead of Sensor Groups, the templates may be public or private, significantly simplify report generation.
  • Additional Report modes & customization including report Field settings MS Excel style alike.

 FAQ: Questions & answers

  • What is an OrgUnit?

The objects are usually incorporated into a geographically distributed administrative structure shown as a tree with branches (OrgUnits) on several levels, that ends with objects. It is the Managers responsibility to arrange the objects in the tree and orgunits.

  • What is FidTrace event?

Events indicate Object behaviour, there are 14 predefined events. For fuel sensors the events "Up" indicate Date/time and values of refueling, "Critically down" - same for fuel theft, "Low" - need for refueling. For logical sensors like "Tamper" an event may be just a state nickname (Alarm). Hardware events are related to Devices itself, e.g. SensorFailure or MainPowerAlarm.

  • Where are icons of my Devices located?

The Device icons may be viewed only in FidTrace Settings mode. In monitoring modes Users don't see these icons (sensors are linked directly to the Object as object features).

  • Why is the sequence of months wrong in my Statistics report?

If the statistical report does include months of more than one year (e.g. December, 2009 & January, 2010) then you need to add "Year" field prior to the "Month" field for the proper month sequence.

  • How can I get information about my hardware problems?

You may view the Alerts frame with appropriate simple or advanced filtering, or you may generate Statistical reports of Hardware Events with full information related to these events.

  • How do I structure my organization in FidTrace?

FidTrace allows to structure your company in the way you see fit best, althought there are numbers of ways to do it. For example, a fuel station network configuration is possible, where single fuel tank is the Object, fuel station - SubUnit, and the network of fuel stations - OrgUnit.

  • What should I do if I see "Invalid view state" message on my screen?

Try to re-log, e.g. log off and then log on or alternatively try to clean your browser cash memory (it can be done in most browsers through Ctrl+F5 key combination).
